Many of us have experienced the sorrows of low or faulty broadband speeds. They’re really irritating. Just imagine this situation – you have some extremely important work to do, maybe write a term paper for college, or upload images, or send some urgent mail, and you can’t do it, because your slow broadband speed is getting in the way. The range of broadband speeds for ADSL is from 1 MB to 24 MB, for the faster connections, you have to spend more. Virgin Media only provides cable broadband in the UK, and this can reach up to 50 MB download speeds, but it’s not available in all areas, plus it is also expensive. When it comes to speed, mobile broadband is slower than normal landline broadband.

Another thing you need to remember is that when it comes to a particular connection, the advertised speed is the maximum speed you are likely to get. Once you are connected, it would be advisable to perform a speed test, this allows you to see if you’re getting the right service and the appropriate speed for the amount you’re paying. So with a little effort and dedication, you needn’t throw up your hands in despair because of your tiresome connection, it just takes a little time to solve the problem with ease.

Unlike infrared, Bluetooth is not a line of sight technology and can hit ranges of up to 100 meters.On the flip side, the increased frequency and range of results in it being much more susceptible to hacking and under attack than infrared with its inbuilt security system. Interestingly, infrared technology can also manage data transfer rates of up to 4Mb per second as opposed to Bluetooth’s comparatively anaemic 2.1Mb per second.
